Fundraiser Part 1: Sudan

For the first week of my activism campaign/fundraiser, I would like to focus on what is happening in Sudan.

Sudan is currently undergoing the largest humanitarian crisis on record (source: IRC), and western media chooses to mostly ignore this crisis. This week, I would love for everyone to take some time to learn about what is going on in Sudan.

Since the 15th of April 2023, an ongoing conflict between the Rapid Support Forces and Sudanese Armed Forces in Sudan has put millions of civilian lives in danger as they are caught in the middle of the conflict. Civilians face violence, food insecurity, sexual violence and displacement, with over 30 million in need of urgent assistance.

I have created a google doc with links to various resources to help you learn more about this crisis, it can be accessed here. Please take some time to engage with these resources. I will also update this document throughout my campaign, so please check back!

The number one thing you can do for Sudan, and to support me in this campaign is to read, sign and share the #handsoffsudan petition, which can be found here. This petition calls on global leaders to take action to stop the genocide in Sudan.
